We Make The Cost of Shredding Easy & Affordable in CT

When you are looking to do a one-time shredding service we charge a rate per bin.  Our bin is a 95-gallon container that holds 300 pounds of paper.  Some companies use smaller 65-gallon bins that only hold 200 pounds of paper so make sure you ask what size bin they are providing.  The rate per bin is based on the number of bins you need to have shredded.  The more you have to shred the lower the cost per bin.  We have a one bin minimum.  For our ongoing scheduled service, we also charge a rate per container.  We provide the containers free of charge you only incur a cost when we destroy documents.  We have a number of different size containers to choose from.  The cost per container is based on the number of containers you have onsite and the frequency of service.  Give FileShred a call to get a quote for the document destruction service you need.

You’ll Be Able To See Your Documents Being Shredded On-Site

Our mobile document destruction service is the most secure way you can destroy your private papers because they never leave your Connecticut location without being completely destroyed.  One of our powerful mobile units is sent to your home, office, or any location you have files to be destroyed.  Then your paper records are placed into a security bin to protect your files when they are taken to the waiting truck just outside.  At the truck, an automated system will lift the bin and empty your files directly into the shredder.  Your documents are then completely destroyed into small unreadable paper particles.  You can also see your documents being destroyed with the onboard camera system on all of our mobile document destruction trucks.

You Pick The Day For Your Document Destruction Service

How about tomorrow?  We offer next-day shredding appointments Monday through Saturday to our residential and business customers.  Our mobile shredding trucks are rolling six days a week to give our clients the flexibility to have their confidential paper records destroyed when it fits best into their schedule.  With FileShred document destruction services are available where and when you need them.

How To Prepare For Your Mobile Shredding Service

With FileShred there is not much more for you to do but decide what documents you want shredded.  There is no reason to remove staples, paper clips, rubber bands, and just about any paper fasteners because our powerful shredders will tear through them all.  We will shred sealed envelopes, whole files in their jackets, and red-well expanding files. If your documents are in boxes leave them in the cartons.  If you have to pull files you can put them in boxes, trash bags, or any containers you have available.  We will empty whatever your documents are in, into our bins so they can be shredded.  If you have full file draws to shred we will empty them for you into our bins.  We can shred 3 ring binders up to one inch thick.  If your binders are thicker we will open them and empty the binders into our bin.  If your documents are only accessed by stairs leave them there we are happy to carry them for you, just let us know in advance.  With FileShred we make the shredding process easy because we are happy to do all the work for you.

Document Destruction for Home Offices

Working from home or having a home-based business is becoming more prevalent than ever before in Connecticut.  So just like any business located in an office building you will need shredding services.  If most of the business-related tasks you do are on your computer and it does not involve a lot of paper you may need to destroy papers occasionally.  If the industry you’re in is more paper-intensive we can set up an ongoing service.  Whatever your shredding needs are, we have the solution for your home office.

Shredding Events

If you are looking for a way to promote your company, say thank you to clients, bring awareness to identity theft in your community or collect donations for your organization then consider hosting a shredding event.  A shredding event is when we send one or more of our impressive document destruction trucks to a public area so your guests can bring their documents to be destroyed.  These events run for a specific number of hours.  So if you are a business, municipality, church, or non-profit organization that wants to learn more or schedule a shredding event give us a call.

Hard Drive Destruction

You may not realize it but everything you do on your computer is recorded on the hard drive even if you didn’t save it.  Not only documents are saved, credit card transactions for online purchases, pictures, videos, websites you have visited, emails, and on and on.  When it’s time to replace your computer the hard drive needs to be removed and destroyed to protect any information on the hard drive.  FileShred will come to your Connecticut home or office to destroy your hard drives so the information can never be accessed again.

Why Document Destruction Services Are Important

Why shred your documents, files, and paperwork if they are no longer needed, no longer important, or just very old? Isn’t tossing them in the trash easier? With the focus on protecting yourself online people forget about the threat of identity theft from paper records.  The majority of information theft that occurs is non-digital.  On-site shredding is the best way to protect confidential and personal information on documents. Our industrial shredders turn documents into tiny unreadable particles so the printed information is no longer legible.  Securely shredding documents before disposal should be a regular routine regardless of how often you discard documents or whether you’re a business or an individual.

Use A NAID AAA Certified Shredding Service

When you use a NAID AAA certified document destruction company like FileShred to destroy your papers you know that your information was eliminated in a manner that meets the strictest security requirements in the industry. Your confidential records were shredded in compliance with Federal and State privacy regulations which you are mandated to follow.  This reduces your risk of fines and penalties that can be imposed for non-compliance.  It also instills confidence in the people that have entrusted you with their private information.  It’s important to note that being a member of NAID does not automatically mean a company is AAA certified.  AAA certified companies have had and continue to have their policies and procedures independently audited to verify compliance with NAID’s rigorous security and professional standards.

Certificate of Destruction – Make Sure You Get One

The certificate of destruction is a formal document that evidences the secure destruction of your paper records and hard drives.  This document is important to keep on file to be compliant with Federal and State Privacy Laws.  The certificate of destruction should include the following information;

  • The client’s name and address
  • Date of the Destruction
  • Location the destruction was performed
  • Shredding company’s representative that performed the destruction with signature
  • Client’s representative that was present with signature
  • Description of how the destruction was performed
  • Description of what was destroyed

It is important to note that you should have some type of supporting documents, in addition to the certificate of destruction, that give specific detail of what paper records were destroyed such as “Payroll Records 2009”.  It will not be necessary for hard drives since the certificate of destruction will list the hard drives by serial number.
